About Jay Ryan

My work with and for children was not a conscious decision.  I didn’t set out to create work for children but once I did I was hooked. It is a two-way process, children become part of the show.

I love performing for children. Years ago, I discovered the magic of children watching and responding to a performance.  They are honest in their attention and will openly accept you or ignore you.

Also, it is important to say that I have a strong memory of being a child. I can access this memory and the magic of hearing a story.

I also have a love of play, of imagining magic and wonder. When I tell such stories to children I feel like there is a two-way connection between myself and the audience.
